We will gather at 7:00 pm for a unique and intimate service in the Harvest Centre with seating in the round. This day marks the beginning of a time of preparation, when we turn our hearts to God. We commit to walking the journey that will lead us to the cross, where we encounter the depth of God’s love, and on to an empty grave, where we find hope in the power of God’s love even over death.

A special service for children pre-kindergarten through 3rd grade, designed to help them understand the meaning of the day, will be led by our children’s minister, Connie Campbell. Children 4th grade and older are invited to participate in the service in the Harvest Centre with their families. Childcare will be provided that evening for children aged 3 and under. Ash Wednesday Kids service will run the same time as the Adult service, on Wednesday, February 22. On Saturday, February 25 at 6:30 pm, four of the best area church choirs will be performing at Harvest. The participating choirs are: Harvest UMC, Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, Living Lord Lutheran Church, and Peace Presbyterian Church. The C-Breeze Quartet of the Sweet Adelines International, an a cappella quartet from Living Lord Lutheran and Harvest’s Chamber Singers, will round out the concert.

The Choral Festival is being held on behalf of Our Daily Bread, a division of One Stop Ministries. Admission is free. A free will offering will be taken. Last year’s concert raised over $3,000 for Family Promise of Manatee County.
